"Hillary Clinton may have lost the Electoral College and therefore the presidency, but her lead in the popular vote just topped the 2 million mark. Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump in the popular vote surpassed 2 million Wednesday morning, according to Dave Wasserman of the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. Clinton has garnered 64,223,958 votes, compared to Trump’s 62,206,395 votes. Democratic presidential candidates have received more votes than their Republican opponents in all but one of the last seven elections. Before the 2000 Bush-Gore election, the Electoral College winner hadn't lost the popular vote in over 100 years. Since 2000, it's happened twice."
